Scholarships
Scholarships are vital to providing access to the Governor’s School for artistically talented students who do not have the financial resources to pay the summer program tuition fee and/or the residential high school meal plan fee.
Financial aid can be supplied through unrestricted funds, temporarily restricted funds and restricted endowment scholarships. Restricted scholarships may be designated to a specific art area or geographic area to be served.
In 2007 the Foundation provided $60,000 in financial assistance to 73 summer program students from 26 counties across the state, partnering with the School to offer tremendous opportunities for young emerging artists to experience the challenges and rewards of intensive arts training. In addition, scholarship funds totaling $166,000 were awarded for meal plan fees in the 2007-2008 school year, and over $135,000 has been awarded for the 2008-2009 school year.
We invite you to fund a scholarship for a deserving student today!
