Participate in the Year's Most Entertaining Way to Give with our Signature Leadership Tribute!

Every year the Governor’s School for the Arts Foundation and our Board of Directors are pleased to host our signature event, our Leadership Tribute. The Leadership Tribute is our premier annual upstate event, established to recognize individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary dedication to the future of the arts in South Carolina through their longstanding support of the South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities. The event begins with an Awards Presentation at 5:00 PM which includes student performances on the Governor's School campus, followed by a superb Cocktail Reception at Greenville's High Cotton restaurant in honor of the award recipients. Sponsorship opportunities are available, and individual tickets are $100 per person.

Since the event's inception in 2007, Carolina First Bank has served as our Presenting Sponsor, and we express our sincere appreciation for its generous contributions to the Foundation and its dedicated passion for the young emerging artists of South Carolina. We also thank our past sponsors who have helped to make the occasion memorable year after year. We hope you and many others will join us for this year’s festivities!

Other Ways You Can Participate

The Foundation offers an array of other giving options to suit the interests of each individual, family, business or organization. From scholarships to violin strings, donors have myriad opportunities to help support the School and the youth of our state. Gifts of all sizes are important and may be made in cash, securities, life insurance or other assets.

Since the Foundation is classified as a tax exempt public charity under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, no matter which method you choose, your gift will be tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Medici Student Aid and Enrichment Fund: Parents, grandparents, other relatives and friends of students are invited to make a contribution to the Medici Student Aid and Enrichment Fund as a way to express support of the School and your student family member. Gifts can be made at any level.

Advocates for Arts and Education (AAE): Our steadfast supporters who believe strongly in the educational experiences and opportunities offered at the School, AAE members include individuals or businesses that support the School with annual gifts of $1,000 or more.

Legacy Society comprises a group of individuals who have chosen to provide for the future of the School by leaving a planned gift or bequest.

Corporate Partners enjoy many benefits which may include the opportunity to hold meetings on the School’s beautiful campus or to have student talent performed at a company function.

Endowment Funds will have long-term impact and can be established for a variety of reasons, such as paying tribute to loved ones, honoring special occasions or supporting a particular interest. Donors who do not wish to set up their own named fund may give to our general Endowment Fund or to one of our existing Named Endowed Funds.

Special Events such as the Midlands area Benefit Art Auction and the statewide Leadership Tribute are annual fundraisers that create fantastic opportunities for corporate and individual sponsorships.

In-kind Donations are welcome. Donations must first be approved either by the School’s administration or by its Art Acquisitions Committee.

Matching Gifts: Many employers have corporate matching gifts programs, allowing donors to double their gifts.

Honorariums and Memorials: A gift in memory or in honor of a student, alumnus, faculty member or friend is a meaningful way to recognize a person’s life and accomplishments.
