Faculty Appreciation

Each of us can remember a special teacher whose influence had a strong impact on our academic as well as personal growth. This is exactly what is happening at the Governor's School.

Each year the parents are invited to make a contribution to the Faculty Appreciation Fund in honor of the teacher (or teachers) who has made the greatest impact on their students. The Dean uses this fund to recognize and show appreciation to the faculty and staff.

The parents are also invited to share their thoughts about the special teacher, and these remarks are conveyed to the designated faculty member.

What a wonderful way to celebrate the strong master artist /student apprentice relationship!

A Special Bond

One parent recently wrote: "This teacher helped our daughter develop a love of history. She respects him as a person and as a teacher. He seems to know, as do all master teachers, that a relationship must be developed before learning can take place. Thank you for making such a positive difference in the life of our daughter!"
