Governor's School for the Arts Foundation, Inc.

Recipient of Generous Gift from ScanSource, Inc.

The Governor's School for the Arts Foundation has been awarded a very generous grant in the amount of $25,000 from ScanSource, Inc. to establish the Medici Student Aid and Enrichment Fund. Held in the Foundation's endowment, this fund will support disadvantaged students at the Governor's School.

Governor's School students have unique needs they would not encounter at a traditional high school, and the fundamental purpose of the Medici Student Aid and Enrichment Fund is to make sure a student's financial status is never an impediment to opportunities at the school, so all students are able to participate fully in the Governor's School experience while here.

The fund will support disadvantaged students at the school in several great ways, from providing for basic necessities, to supporting needs that arise from living away from home, to underwriting special learning experiences for the students such as opportunities to visit museums, galleries or exhibitions or to attend local and national symphony, opera, plays, ballet or other performances that will provide educational experiences that are invaluable to an arts education. A long-needed fund, the Medici Student Aid and Enrichment Fund will have an enormous impact on the lives of Governor's School students who need financial assistance.
