Leadership Tribute 2009

Leadership Tribute 2009

The Governor's School for the Arts Foundation proudly hosted its third annual Leadership Tribute to recognize individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary dedication to the future of the arts in South Carolina through their support of the South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities.

This year we were pleased to present the J. Verne Smith Leadership Award to Robert L. Carter, Speaker of the House Robert W. Harrell, Jr., Robert E. Hughes, Jr. and C. Thomas Wyche, whose significant efforts were instrumental when the residential high school campus was being planned and constructed.

With Ambassador David H. Wilkins serving as Master of Ceremonies, we commemorated the hard work of these four gentlemen with an Awards Presentation in the Governor's School concert/recital hall, followed by a grand reception in downtown Greenville's High Cotton restaurant.

We express our sincere appreciation to Carolina First, Presenting Sponsor, and to all of our sponsors who helped to make the evening a memorable occasion for the honorees, their families and all who attended.
